Ketamine

Ketamine Infusions

Ketamine is a medication with excellent response rates for treatment-resistant depression and other conditions, even in patients experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Its effectiveness comes from its action on brain chemicals such as glutamate, which allows to increase and reorganize neuronal connectivity (neuroplasticity).

How it works

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

The Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses a magnetic field to stimulate specific areas of the brain. After placing a coil directly on the head, a magnetic field is generated to stimulate neurons in the targeted brain region.

This process is non-invasive, painless, and highly localized, so it does not affect the entire body system like oral medications and has few short-term side effects.

No long-term side effects are known. The most common one is soreness at the treatment zone, which usually subsides within a few hours.

Benefits of TMS & Ketamine Therapy

Some people may experience mild to moderate discomfort during each treatment, like headache in the case of TMS or nausea after the ketamine infusion, but it usually resolves immediately afterwards.

"I had severe tinnitus since 2020, which increased in intensity from that year until 2024. For this reason, I sought therapy, as I saw it as an alternative to the anxiety and despair caused by this sound that seems to come from nowhere, yet is always present. Those who experience it will understand. After 10 sessions, I've noticed a decrease in the intensity and frequency of the sound in my head, and invaluablely, with the addition of medication, the despair I felt disappeared. Thank you so much, Dr. Villamil."
